First Falcon 9 to feature grid fins. First time a Falcon 9 attempted to land on a drone ship. During the landing burn, the grid fin system ran out of hydraulic fluid which left Falcon 9 stuck at an uncorrectable attitude. It crashed into the drone ship and was destroyed.

SpaceX CRS-5, also known as SpX-5, was a Commercial Resupply Service mission to the International Space Station conducted by SpaceX for NASA. Dragon was berthed to the ISS for 29 days before successfully returning to Earth. 2,317kg of cargo were brought to the station. 1,823kg pressurized and 494kg unpressurized. This mission was flown by Dragon C107-1.
