Ares 1-X Test Launch

Ares 1-X was developed to test the aerodynamics and launch of the Ares 1. It was a 4 segment shuttle solid rocket booster with a dummy 5th segment. Additionally, the 2nd stage and capsule were both mass simulators. Damage occurred to LC-39B's fixed and rotating service structures.
